Camden is six months! Time has gone by much to quickly with this little one. He is always happy and smiling (as long as his tummy is nice and full). He loves his Mommy bunches and coos, 'ma ma ma ma ma' throughout the day. Camden loves Daddy's kisses and watching his brother play toys. He is just starting to get up on all fours and propel himself forward to get where he wants to go. He is truly our little angel baby and we LOVE him TONS!

Crew loves his baby brother and likes to 'help' me with him. The boys are sick right now and Crew has been so sweet to try and comfort Camden while he isn't feeling well.

For Crew's second birthday party we took him to Freestone Park. We kicked off the fun with some lunch.

Than started to sing the 'Happy Birthday' song and he lost it.

Seriously did not appreciate the attention I guess, well, that and he really wanted to go see the ducks.

Chris did his best to get him on board to blow the candles out. That's supposed to be a lego cake. Yeah. . . lesson learned, I well never make my kids a special birthday cake again!

He was pretty good at opening presents! Looking forward to Christmas now.

I realized the other day my last post said nothing about our boys. Geesh, what a jerk! So get ready for some cute overload. . . (Also, as a side note, please forgive the 'Paxman Photography' stamp, I, Johnna was exporting the photos into my folder and didn't realize that setting was on)

Poor Camden lost his hair early on. I was more than happy to let him sport the 'George Castanza' look but Chris was super embarrassed of him and MADE me shave his head.

I can't even tell you how many popsicles this kid had this summer.

Nothing like a good tantrum! Which is happening A STINK'N LOT these days.

Awe, but than he goes back to pure sweetness.

We took the kids up to Grandpa and Grandma Paxman's for the holiday weekend. Crew had a great time on all our little adventures.

Camden was sweet and happy as usual.

As you can see, his hair is growing back handsomely. Thank heavens!

These two our best buddies! Crew needs a little reminding every now and then to not poke, hit or kick his brother but for the most part it's nothing but hugs, kisses and loves.

I love my cute boys! 99% of the time I'm in need of a shower, have a ponytail in my hair, no make-up on and am wearing my husbands basketball shorts and a baggy t-shirt. . . But heck if my kiddos aren't well taken care of!

Things have been pretty uneventful around here. I have a baby in one arm and chase Crew around with the other. Chris continues to work at University of Phoenix full time, as well as keep up with his photography business and tomorrow he starts school again. He has only two classes left, woo hoo! We have enjoyed our new home and still have plenty of projects to keep us busy. Life is good.

Here are some sweet pics of Camden at 3 weeks. We are so in love with (as Chris calls him) our cute little bug. I have to say, I'm so grateful we had fussy colicky Crew first so we could fully appreciate what a GOOD baby Camden is. I've adjusted to life as a mother of two and Crew thankfully is adjusting to life as a big brother. He loves to hold his hand during diaper changes, push him when he's in the swinger, give him kisses and hugs and is always trying to share his food, drinks and toys with him. They are best buddies already! We are truly blessed.

Chris: " Me and Crew went to Lake Powell with all of my family last week. We left Johnna and baby Camden home and drove up on Wednesday after I got out of work. He didn't sleep at all the whole trip up but was pretty well behaved, I was pretty impressed with myself and how well I was able to single-handily entertain him while driving.
We had alot of fun at the lake and spending time with family and playing with the toys.

Here is a quick run-down of Camden's arrival:

I was supposed to be induced on the 9th but every woman in Mesa/Gilbert AZ was going into labor apparently so we waited two full days with great anticipation and got in on the 11th.

We arrived at the hospital at 3:45 PM, I got hooked up to some pictocin and we relaxed and watched a couple movies. About halfway through I got my epideral fix. My anesthesiologist did an AWESOME job! In fact I seriously had no complaints this time, everyone was great! I really didn't progress much so at ten pm my ob broke my water and BAM an hour and a half later Camden arrived!

Camden has been a super sweet/calm baby. He seriously came into this world calm, hardly cried at all. There is a HUGE difference in he and Crew's personalities so far, not to mention looks.

I have been loving every moment with this sweet boy! A little to much in fact, I've pretty much held him for two weeks straight and now he's pretty sure he's supposed to sleep in my arms, NOT his bassinet.

I just can't resist spoiling my babies!!! So what if they're high maintenance.

Crew is uhm. . . Well, he's slowly adjusting to this whole big brother deal. He goes from sweet moments like this where he begs to hold him and love him and kiss him and SQUEEZE him. . .

To this! An absolute crazy, wild, emotional, NAUGHTY boy.

We feel so blessed that Camden arrived safely and is a sweet healthy boy!

20 Months

Crew is exactly 20 months today! Handsome little devil.

He has tons of fun and tantrums these days. I've realized I'm in a little over my head with this toddler stuff so I finally broke down and bought a parenting book. Considering I'm due in three days we'll see if I ever actually get around to reading it.

Lake Powell

Wednesday of last week after talking to a couple of my sisters, I realized the majority of the 24 Hughett grandkids had been prompted into this world via induction. I was 37 1/2 weeks and thought heck, why should we spend our weekend at home waiting around for no baby to show when we could be at Lake Powell. Chris of course was on board right away and we headed to the Lake the next day.

This thing was rock'n! Since Chris and I are the only one's supplying a Paxman grandkid right now we got the sweetest room in the place, Score!

Auntie Andrea took Crew up on the top deck of the houseboat, set him in a lounge chair, gave him her ipod and said she was trying to make him 'high maitenance'.

Diaper Duty

For my early birthday present/Mother's Day/new baby Chris and my sister Tami bought me cloth diapers and all the fun stuff that goes with it to get me going. They just arrived yesterday and I have to say I'm pretty excited to get those cute colorful diapers on my babies bums.

Chris wants me to sign a contract declaring now that the cloth diapers are purchased, I will NOT go back to disposables. I think he's a little skeptical of my cloth diapering abilities (mostly the laundry). They are a pretty pricey deal to get started but I am excited about the money we will save. From my research you save $2,000-$3,000 over a 3 year period per child. . . and since we are planning on making our very own Paxman soccer team, I think that's a pretty good deal.

I guess the nice thing about not blogging for awhile is y'all well get the short and sweet version of what's going down.

Here we are at the Renaissance fair. I HAD to have a giant turkey leg!!! They looked so good but honestly 4 bites into it I threw it away. Should'a gone with the extra looooong sausage. . .

This was before my poor dog Skippy was attacked by three pit-bulls while Crew and I were taking him for a walk. He is now TERRIFIED of other people's dogs, sad deal.

Here I am at 32 Weeks pregnant. Last pregnancy we took belly pics every two weeks, this time around, well, that's the first and probably the last.

-Crew handled Easter like a pro. He is completely obsessed with candy so I was pretty sure he'd catch on quickly.

The weather here in Arizona has been simply amazing the past couple weeks. We have been trying to take full advantage of it.

Crew has this walking thing ALL figured out. He loves going as fast as he can while we chase him around.

It was all I could do to keep him from jumping in. Crew loves anything water related.

In other news, we are a little undecided on our name choice for baby boy #2. I've put up a poll on the top left corner for voting. We need to hurry up and make a final decision because I am dying to buy these stacking rings with the boys and Chris's names on them. Ooo Wee!

So far we have decided on the name Maverick for baby boy #2. A couple weeks later it came to my attention that was Tom Cruise's character in Top Gun, to which my husband said, 'Why else do you think I agreed to it?!'.

Chris continues to work at the University of Phoenix, chip away at his bachelor's degree, and run a successful wedding photography business ( http://paxmanphotography.com ). One of the highlights of his year was being flown to Sweden for a week to shoot a beautiful wedding abroad.
Johnna loves being a stay at home mom and watching Crew grow and change way too fast. The highlight of her year was going to Idaho with Chris and Crew for the first Hughett family reunion.
Crew turned one in October. He is walking, waving, hugging, kissing, biting, teething, and an absolute joy in our lives.
Crew found out that he will be a big brother in June 2011

Christmas card 2007. Oh so young, so hot. . . still.

Christmas 2008. Believe it or not, this was my first real picture with Santa Claus. I was very excited.

Itzy, our hairless chihuahua, stole the show that year.

There's a good 20 - 30 lbs. packed on us since our last Christmas card picture. . . We attributed that to a happy marriage.

The last week of July was the first Hughett family reunion. It ended up being a lot of 'firsts' for Crew. He had his first plane ride (he did great with that until the last 40 minutes of our last flight. I started puking, he started crying. . . Yeah. . .), first boat ride and first time camping sorta kinda. We'll call it half camping, we stayed at my Sister's cabin, but hung out at the campgrounds with the fam during the day.

The first thing we did after our flight got in was head to the Spokane WA Temple.

It was very sweet to be able to go with family.

Then we headed out to the Lake and the festivities began. All of my family has not been in one place at one time in at least eight years. It was nice to catch up with everyone and see their cute kiddos run around. This is all of us minus one grandkid (who is currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Germany).

I wish we had taken more pictures! I guess we were just having to much fun to get the camera out very much. Crew had fun playing with his Zimmerman cousins at their cabin. I was shocked at how they actually WANTED to play with him and thought he was cute even. Maybe it's because I was the youngest, or eh, maybe I was just a weirdo spoiled brat growing up, but I hated kids back then! Thankfully I've grown out of it.

Crew was happy as can be in this tube filled with a little water.

It was so nice to be back in my 'homeland'.

Every time I come back from a vacation to Idaho I get in a 'I HATE ARIZONA!!!!!' funk. This time it lasted a little over a month. Yikes! Course, we did come home to 100+ degree weather, so that didn't exactly help.

We truly had a GREAT time!! I'm so grateful for all the work my parents put into making it a fun time for us! Many Thanks to the Zimmerman's for letting us stay at your cabin.

For the fourth we had Chris's brother Dallas and his wife Andrea over for dinner. Chris and I have come to realize our only source of entertainment for guests is taking pictures. So we went out and played with some of Chris's new photography gear.

After that we headed out to the fireworks. There was a lot of traffic on the way there so we just ended up pulling over on the side of the road and watched them.

Crew was somewhat intrigued by the fireworks but seemed to think the passing cars and Ooh's and Ahh's of people near by were more exciting. Ah well, next year. . .

Yesterday we had a belated birthday dinner for me with the Paxman's at Pei Wei.

Recent Events

Chris was recently flown out to Sweden to shoot a wedding. He was gone for just a little over a week. Crew was sure to let me know he missed his daddy!

I wondered what Crew's response would be when Chris finally got back. Would he cry, scream, or smile? Thankfully he was all to happy to see his dad and gave him the best/longest cuddles ever. It was pretty stink'n cute.

This is Miss Mali. She was attacked by a teen driver. Unfortunately we were all in the car, which made it extra scary. After the initial hit Crew let out a cry and we were both panicked. As soon as we pulled over and opened the back door, crew gave us a big smile. Crew and I were just fine and Chris only hurt his wrist. All in all, not bad as far as wrecks go.

It's hard to believe Crew will be driving someday.

Hey baby, wanna ride?

For my birthday I went on a little shopping spree to Hobby Lobby and later that evening we went to Cheesecake Factory. Who can ever leave there with just one piece of cheesecake?!

Chris brought home a dozen roses and a nice card. It's taken him three years, but I think he's finally realized spending money on 'flowers that just die' isn't such a horrible thing if it makes your wife happy. Crew had a great time sitting in his highchair and charming all the tables around us.

This past weekend Chris had a shoot up in Greer so we spent the weekend at his parents home in Pinetop. The weather was great! I tried to put Crew on the grass to play but he was NOT having it. He'd pull his little legs up and squeal when I tried to sit him down. He was okay once we set out a blanket and toys. He may have been a total girl about it, but I'm glad he was able to get some time outdoors.

Three years ago today Chris and I were married at the LDS Mesa Arizona Temple. This past year has been especially eventful with the birth of our first child. Our love has certainly grown!

Marriage definitely changes once you have kids. Today being a prime example. I'm not quite sure how the 'romance' will play out today with a eight month old baby who has a five foot rule. As in, I can't EVER be more than five feet from him. . . Or else.

He sure is cute though! I'm finding that the more we love him, the more we love and appreciate each other.

Last Thursday Chris's baby brother Bradley graduated from High School. Yay Bradley! That in of it self would have been a fun family weekend, but we lucked out and got a two for one deal. Chris's brother Dallas was married that same weekend.

Aren't they just so cute! So young, skinny and in love. You wouldn't even guess they got up at 4am, the DAY OF their wedding to have their pictures taken. Aye currumba!!!

Would you look at that! Chris isn't just good for taking pictures. I'm seriously so impressed with his skills. When I used to do hair I'd tremble at the thought of sticking a brides veil in. Seriously, you can jack up their hair in a hot second!

Awe! He knows how to bustle a dress too! It just gets better.

True to Snowflake, it was nice and WINDY! Ooo, and I made that little purple tie for Crew. He liked eating it.

1st Mother's Day

The morning of my very first Mother's Day, I woke up to a BIG beautiful ball of flowers. I was astonished! Chris has NEVER bought me flowers in the entirety of our marriage. As it turns out, Chris did not actually buy those flowers. They just so happened to be giving away the centerpiece flower arrangements at the wedding he was shooting the previous night. He assured me that it was a real pain in the butt to bring home.

Chris was very good to give me some 'mommy time'. He even changed a couple diapers! I was hoping he'd get a nice poopy one, but Crew decided he'd play nice.

I feel so grateful to my Heavenly Father for sending me such a sweet little boy.

I LOVE being a mommy! I'm truly blessed to be able to stay at home with our little guy. Life doesn't get better than this.

He's so stink'n cute we just might have more.

For whatever reason Arizona is really relaxed about updating your license. Until today the picture on my license was the same one taken when I got my learning permit when I was 15 years old. I got a letter in the mail a few weeks ago letting me know that if I didn't update my picture, my license would be suspended. Also I have to renew my passport for a wedding abroad coming up this summer and thought that a suspended license would reflect poorly on my passport application process.

So I put on a good shirt and drove all over creation to find a DMV today, and the above image is what I got for my $4.00 renewal fee.

In the past couple weeks Crew has started crying when anyone but Chris or I holds him, tries to talk to him, or even if they are just talking to me. This has become a little problematic in social situations. Thankfully after the first good cry he's back to his happy self.

I'm finding that my extra-wide hips are coming in handy when lugging around a 18+ lb. baby around.

Chris is 29 years old today. Whew!! Glad it's him and not me. He seems to be taking it awfully well. Chris took it upon himself to buy his own birthday presents this year. . . and let's just say the man knows how to treat himself RIGHT. I've never met a person who doesn't love Chris. He is good lookin', funny, smart, hardworking, a great husband and best of all, an incredible father.

6 1/2 Months

At Crew's six month appointment he weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs. 13 oz. and his height was 27 1/2 inches. His first little tooth is now visible. We were expecting teething to be a huge ordeal, but so far it really hasn't been that bad. He is becoming more and more mobile everyday. Recently he did seven rolls in a row and in the past couple days he has started doing a tummy crawl. We started solids three weeks ago and he is just now starting to somewhat choke it down. He is cute as ever, smiling, screaming, and babbling away.

Chris continues to be crazy busy with work at UOP, WEDDING SEASON, starting up school again and of course being a good daddy and husband. I've just been taking care of Crew and uhh. . . Yup, that's it.

The hardest working man I know is now officially retired. Yay for my Dad!!! I'm excited for my parents to dive into this next, fun chapter of their lives. It's been nice to call home and he is actually there, amazing!

Chris's brother Dallas is now engaged to the beautiful Miss Andrea! We are so excited for Andrea to officially join the Paxman fam in May. They sure do look good together huh?! This past weekend we went to Chris's youngest brother's track meet. He is quite the athlete. Bradley is Arizona State's soccer player of the year for 3A.

Chris recently did a shoot at an alpaca auction. This beauty was called 'The Matrix.' Chris had heard quite the chatter about Matrix while there and didn't see what the big deal was. Aren't all alpaca's the same?! Apparently not, because 'The Matrix' sold for $670,000. Yes, that is the correct amount of zeros.

Yesterday I thought I'd give dog grooming a try. I have to say Skippy was a really good sport through the whole process. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. The words, 'you get what you pay for' definitely come to mind on this one.

As Crew has gotten older we have started to venture out into the world a little more. We are never quite sure if he's going to love it or hate it, but for the most part he seems to be just as happy as we are to get out of the house. Thankfully he has yet to have a pooplosion in public. . . but I know that day will come. Oh, and speaking of poop, Crew has started helping me hold his feet during diaper changes. It's the little things people!

Crew is three months old! He seems to have gotten past his colic and is a much happier baby now, not to mention how much happier WE are as well. He weighs 15.5 lbs., smiles most of the time, makes all sorts different noises to entertain us, sucks on his hands(still NO binki), and his tears came in.

He really enjoyed all the extra attention during Grandpa and Grandma Hughett's visit over Christmas. It was so fun to have my parents here to help me get out of the house with the baby. I really wish they lived closer! Can't wait to visit them this summer.

Last weekend Chris's fam came down for Crew's blessing. While they were here, they watched Crew so Chris and I could go out on our first date since Crew was born. It was nice to have a little time together. Crew's blessing was wonderful! I have to say, as soon as I dressed him in his little white outfit I was in tears. As you can see in the picture above, he was pretty stink'n cute.

Crew is getting a lot more fun these days (Well, minus his colic issues that is). He is smiling, cooing, batting at his toys, making spit bubbles. . . You get the drift. I don't think either of us knew how hard this was going to be! One of Chris's friends who has a baby about the same age was over and saw I had the book, What to Expect the First Year. He said, "what it should say is, 'in the first three months I will give you HE-double hockey sticks, and a little bit of joy'." Maybe it was the sleep deprivation but I thought that was HILARIOUS!

We spent Thanksgiving up in the White Mountains with Chris's family. The food was AWESOME!!! Chris enjoyed spending time with his fam relaxing, Skippy enjoyed the attention and table scraps and I enjoyed all the extra arms to help in holding a fussy baby Crew.

If you've spent anytime checking out my photography blog you have noticed that I almost never take pictures of newborn babies. It is SO HARD to do and it takes forever and when you tell them to "lift your chin just a little" they will seriously sit there, and ignore you, and not lift their chin a little!

We sure think our little guy is stinkin adorable but we are going to have to work on the modeling skillz...cuz to-date he isn't in love with getting his picture taken...yet....
better get used to it junior, it's part of the job description!

Supposed to be induced at 3pm on Friday, 'Labor Delivery' called to let us know that they were too busy for us and so we had to wait. Johnna got anxious and called later at 8pm and they told us that we could come on down.

39 Weeks

We are crossing our fingers that this is the last belly shoot. Things are going great! I've been dilated at a 3 for 3 weeks now. . . But at least there seems to be an end in sight since I am 39 weeks. I can honestly say I have fulfilled every possible craving I could have had, taken every nap time opportunity possible and have everything a baby could ever need/want. We are ready (If there is such a thing as being 'ready' for your first baby)!

Me and Skippy had quite the scare today when we found this in the hallway next to the garage door. We both thought for sure that Johnna had been whisked away to heaven in the blink of an eye and that this pile of flip-flops, jeans, and shirt were to be the only sign the miraculous event.

Actually this happens all the time. Poor Johnna is going through the final trimester of her pregnancy and bearing the brunt of our dreadful Mesa Arizona summers. Anytime she has to go out to do errands or anything this is a pretty standard practice to help cool down immediately upon returning the privacy of our home.

I guess it is a good think that I don't believe in "The Rapture" ...or I would seriously get freaked out by this on a regular basis.

I was just looking through some old pics and landed on this beauty. I don't think there is a day that has gone by I haven't thought of my sweet baby Itzy. Seriously, Chris can testify I'm not even joking about that. I've said things like, "getting rid of Itzy is one of the biggest regrets of my life. . ."(and that's REALLY saying something coming from me!). I'm so grateful I'll have a new sweet lil pumpkin arriving this October. Hopefully it will make me forget all about the 'puppy love' of my life.

[For those of you who don't know, or are thinking, why the heck did she get rid of that dog then?! She hated everyone BUT me, tried biting adults, children, BABIES, was psycho, Chris loathed her with a passion and she peed on our carpets a bajillion times.]

Chris and I have come to a FINAL decision on our baby boys name.
It will be:

Crew Christopher Paxman

My Mothers response to this was, "it's better than that Gaylord name you had chosen out." We did not actually have the name 'Gaylord' on our list. . . but I got the gist of what she must have thought of that other name. Glad she approves of Crew at least.

Chris actually gets the credit for finding the name. One Saturday morning he volunteered cleaning up around the temple grounds. He ended up working next to a guy who brought his little boy named Crew with him. Chris really liked that name and when he told me, I really loved it too. Seriously! He comes up with one name and I had a list of seventy. . . go figure.

We are happy to have a name chosen now but it is still a little surreal.

Telecommuting

A couple weeks ago Chris began telecommuting for work. He gets to roll out of bed and walk a few steps to our office and plug away on the computer.

Since I am also at home we have been seeing a whole LOT of each other. I couldn't wait for him to be able to telecommute for work. So far, I still think it's pretty awesome. Chris on the other hand is just looking for a good reason to go back to work at the office. I know when I'm bugging him too much when he starts asking if I'm tired and if I've had my nap yet today.

Being cooped up in the house all day can make you a little loony. The other day we took a field trip to see a movie at the Imax theater and Chris came home with these goofy 3D glasses that he wore for the next two days off and on.

Last weekend Chris had a wedding shoot up in Snowflake. We were glad to have a wedding that wasn't in Mesa so we could get out of the heat. We had fun golfing, helping Bradly with his back flips and eating at Darbie's.

Two Years of Wedded Bliss

Chris and I met almost three years ago in singles ward. One Sunday we had a combined Relief Society/Priesthood lesson. I was sitting with my girls and about 3 rows ahead of us sat Chris all by himself. We all naturally began talking about this mysterious, lonely (so I thought), cute guy. I'll be honest, I had never noticed Chris before that Sunday, but after that I started paying attention. I discovered that Chris was paying a bit of attention to me too. He would never talk to me, but I caught him staring at me a number of times in church. I couldn't figure out why this handsome guy was sitting all by himself every Sunday. I felt sorry for him, he looked like he was in bad need of some friends. The next Sunday I decided I would sit next to him in church and ask him to come over to dinner with my room mates and I. I did and he gladly accepted. Later, I learned that Chris was in fact not lonely. He had TONS of friends, he was just apparently too cool for anyone in our singles ward. Lucky for him I didn't know that tidbit of information. . .
