Party On!

Saturday night Chris and I went to my sister LaDawn & Fam's Christmas party. They had a super yummy dinner for us, Santa appearance and a gift exchange game. We had a great time!

Lingard Family

Chris and I with the REAL Santa! I have a thing for Grandpa's and this guy is just soooo cute. It's okay to be married and have a crush on Santa too right?
Chris was so cute and cuddly that night.
Here we are playing the gift exchange game. I was ready to physically beat Chris for not making a steal for a $20 Walmart gift card with Bath and Body Works lotions. . . In fact I was grumpy at him the whole ride home. But it being Christmas and all I've decided to let it go. Plus it doesn't hurt we still made out like bandits.

Scottsdale Fun

Saturday night we had a fun group date out in Scottsdale. We went out to eat at a Chinese restaurant called Flo's. We had a good time ordering a bunch of stuff and sharing it all.
Then we headed out to see what we thought was a life size gingerbread house. This was it; I think J.C.'s expression says it all.
All in all it was a fun night! I was glad to spend time with friends and eat out somewhere fancy.

Turkey-fest-week!

Dallas flew into town on Tuesday for Thanksgiving and we thought that it would be fun if we all went out to dinner. So Me and Johnna, Brett and Erica, Dallas, and Ashley all met up for dinner. Whenever we can get the majority of the siblings together we have what we call "Dinner on Tom and Sherrie". Me and Brett still have one of their credit cards (he he he).

This is a funny picture of Itsy. Johnna gets her so much junk. This is her rockin her pink hoodie. We laughed SO HARD when we saw this picture on the back of the camera.

Colorado Weekend

This past weekend Chris and I got to spend the weekend in Colorado with my sister Tami and her family. We had tons of fun hanging out with Tami and Caleb and their four boys. My sister Ashley and a couple of her kids came over one of the nights and we all played Hyper Dash with the kids. It was a really fun/action packed game. We also went out to a cute little town called Estes. It was a beautiful drive! On the way back we stopped at a sweet spot to take their family photos. I would post some of those but I don't want to spoil their Christmas card. As usual Chris and I didn't get any candid pictures of our trip, but here are some my sister sent me.

Guard Dog

The latest and greatest news at our home is. . . we got robbed on Wednesday. After the fact I started to hide anything & everything of value or importance, even just silly things like our mail keys (which I totally forgot where I put them!). You could say I've gone a little overboard with this. Chris came home early yesterday and throughout the day I received countless texts of, "Do you know where _______ is?" After about the fifteenth text that day I was getting some pretty good laughs out of my little hide and seek game. Now I'm going overboard in other, more productive ways. Besides all the top secret security measures we have taken, I have been thinking a Guard Dog would be nice. And considering what happened I think I might actually convince Chris this is a good idea. The only thing is I kinda have to convince myself first. I'm not a BIG dog lover. I just like the little yappers. My question is, can you keep a big dog outside all year round in AZ? Do any of you do this? Is it cruel? At any rate, I'm wondering what you guys think.

Wedding Weekend

This past weekend Chris shot a wedding on Friday and Saturday. YAY for Chris! Saturday's wedding was super fun and extra special because it was our good friends J.C. and Niki's. I can't even tell you how nice it was to go to a wedding where I actually knew some people. Most of the time I go with Chris on his shoots because I am convinced he needs me. . . he just doesn't know it. Lucky me, that was actually true this time. Okay, so maybe not so much with the actual photography part, but still. I was able to do an impromptu hairstyle for Nikki. It was so fun to be a part of her special day and be of use. We are so happy for J.C., Nikki and Kyson! Even more excited that they live so close. Yay for couples dates!

P.S. Have you ever scene an orange watermelon?! They had it at their reception. Very cool.

Happy Post

Chris and I have been sensing the need for a 'Happy Post.' As you can imagine it's taken a lil bit to really get in the 'Happy Post' mood lately. But hello! It must be done. At any rate, here are a few things that have brought Chris and I a bit of joy these days.

I think this picture says what I would like to say without me getting emotional on you guys so we'll just leave it at that.

Pets come and go but our love is forever! I'm soooo grateful for Chris and all that he does for me. I love him TONS and in the grand scheme of things a little more time with just the two of us couldn't hurt. Also, I'm looking at us in that picture wondering what happened to that skinny little bod. So if anyone wants a walking buddy I'd love that.

Paxman Photography is taking off. Woot! Woot!

Well, this one is all me. I love me some Dr. Pepper but laid off all things caffeine while I was pregnant but now that we are in the clear; hello beautiful red can!

A little retail therapy never hurt anyone right? Plus it's got me thinking about Christmas early for once. My house is even decorated already. Chris has even been coming home with lil presents from him, to him. . . . so cute. As long as he waits for Mrs. Clause to bring him an XBOX 360 it's okay in my book.

Simple Acts

Chris and I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all those who have sent their love and prayers our way. Sometimes the simplest acts can mean the most.

Our Loss

We spent most of last night in the E.R. at Banner Gateway after Johnna noticed some bleeding. After a few hours of poking, prodding, ultrasound, and blood tests and a few more hours waiting on the results of those tests and at 2:30 in the morning The E.R. doctor came in and let us know that we had lost our baby.
You may notice that our blog looks different. I've taken down some of the posts and blog gadgets. I know alot of our friends and family read our blog and I wanted to post this right away to avoid as many uncomfortable conversations as possible.

Putting the WOW in Chihuahua

Last weekend I lovingly forced Chris to go to Beverly Hills Chihuahua. He got to go to Tuscon (of which I have never been myself) and play with his family and take pictures of the Blue Ridge Soccer team playing in a tournament. I unfortunately (or due to my interest in soccer, fortunately) I didn't get to go. . . someone has to watch our lil Itzy! I was sure to look really sad and pitiful before Chris left, yeah that's right, I'm not above using the guilt factor. He actually looked like he felt bad so I asked him if he would come to Beverly Hills Chihuahua with me when he got back. I'm happy to say due to my puppy dog face he agreed. However! If I had known he would be so grumpy about seeing the cutest doggy movie ever I would have left his bum at home. I was just tickled pink to see all the little Chihuahuas running around in their crazy fun outfits. I'd look over at Chris with a big toothy grin every few minutes or so and every time he had his arms crossed over his chest with the "I'm going to kill you" look on his face. Hmph!! Next time there is a dog movie out, to heck with Chris, I'll take Itzy.

I FINALLY figured out how to get pictures off my phone and on to the blog. That may be due to increased motivation thanks to Chris posting pics of me shoving food in my face.

I got the original...the one and only!!!

SO another weird website for you to waste 2 minutes of your life on is http://howmanyofme.com/search/ I am not sure how accurate it is but basically it tells you how popular your first name is and how popular your last name is and then how many other people in the country share the same name.
There is only ONE Johnna Paxman!

Johnna Paxman

* There are 1 or fewer people in the U.S. named Johnna Paxman.
* We have information on both names, but chances are low that someone has this combination of names.

Do you know what the world revolves around?

This is a picture made by this website called Wordle... basically it reads your page and makes a word collage out of the words on your blog emphasizing the words that are used most often. Kinda fun.

-Chris (maybe if I start signing each post I'll fair off better in the word count)

Caboose

Last weekend we headed to Superior for a photoshoot. While my subject was doing an outfit change I handed my camera to the subject's brother and asked him to snap a shot of me and Johnna. This is the ONLY time anyone other than Johnna or I have even held my camera. After seeing the resulting image I know more fully now that the photographer makes the photograph not the camera.
Poor Johnna got like a hundred mosquito bites on her legs.

She got her undergrad from University of Idaho where Johnna's dad is the Director of Information Tech. She was also runner-up for Miss Alaska in 1984.

Date night and stuff....

Dashcam (haven't been guilty of this in a while)
Last night we went to a new restaurant called Cafe Laguna that features fry bread as their staple to most of their dishes. Here is Johnna eatin it up:

Then we went to see that movie "What Happens in Vegas". It was cool but it might as well have been a remake of "How to lose a guy in 10 days"

Lately Johnna has been suggesting that she would like to get another dog. I have been catching her on the internet searching craigslist and other listings for puppies... so I took action, and now I have her convinced that I have a "puppy-block" on the internet because whenever she starts to look for puppies the internet mysteriously stops working. In reality I am just unplugging the modem with my foot whenever I catch her. I realize that this little trick is useless now that I have blogged about it but I thought it was too funny not to share.

Jungle Fever

Chris promised me last night I was going to get up the same time as him today and WORK. So this morning I was rudely awakened with the covers being ripped off me and a squirt gun to the face, which he totally used! (at 5 am). . . which didn't end until I was out of bed, and out of our bedroom.

This is the project he gave me to do today:

(This is just a portion of our backyard. . . It all looks like this. . .)

Fun huh?! One of the reasons I married Chris is that he is the ONLY guy who will put me in my place and won't let me be (to much of) a princess. Occasionally I have to remind myself that this is what I believed to be an "endearing" quality of his. So, assuming I don't die of severe heat exhaustion and painful prickles in my hands, I will post an after picture.
......................................................................................
I am still not done. . . but here is an update.

Walker Reunion

I have returned!! I drove LaDawn and crew home on Monday. I only almost killed everyone once so I'm fairly proud of myself. I really enjoyed seeing my family. We haven't seen each other since I got married last June. It was also a blast to see my extended fam. All my cousins are loaded with kids now. . . and then there was me. . . with none. I was sure to tell Chris that everyone thought he was totally lame for not coming. I also assured him he would not be so lucky next reunion. I missed Chris tons while I was gone, but then when I got home I was bawling my eyes out cuz I missed my family. Hopefully by next reunion Chris and I have kids, and the Hughett's well have mastered the game of Spoons.
